Mythos Brewery is the second largest brewery in Greece, best known for its Mythos brand, the first authentically Greek beer. MYTHOS BREWERY LTD., was established in 1970 under the name Henninger Hellas S.A.
In 2001 the company renamed itself as the Mythos Brewery Ltd., as Mythos had become its primary product. The name Mythos means ‘myth’ in Greek.
Mythos beer is the only Greek beer brand that is exported to approximately 30 countries worldwide, making it the world’s most famous Hellenic Beer.
The beer itself is a light straw-coloured, lager beer with an alcohol content of 4.7%.
Review: Can of Mythos pale lager 4.7% ABV
Another surprise, never thought I would be loving a Greek beer, but this is a good smooth and refreshingly tasty beer.
Appearance is good, a nice clear pale yellow beer with a nice head developing but it does dissipate quickly. Good lacing though.
No clear smell was found, maybe slightly sweet and a small hint of cooked corn and grassy hops.
Taste was of sweet malts, no bitterness, was fairly smooth to drink, and a teeny bit strong too. Recommended.
